Bethlehem is situated 10 minutes south of Jerusalem, it’s a Palestinian city and visitors who want to visit the holy sites can do so easily. When we get to the check point the Israeli guide will hand you over to a Palestinian guide with whom we work, and he will take you to see the main sites. You will have to show you passport at the check point so please don’t forget that.
Bethlehem is the birthplace of King David, meaning City of Bread as a result of the wheat crop that grew in the region. According to Christian tradition, Jesus was born there. We will drive to Bethlehem via Nativity Circle; visit the cave where Jesus was born and the Manger Square, where Jesus was placed after his birth. Also visit the Greek and the Catholic Church and the Milk Grotto, where Mary fed her son. Overview the Shepherds Fields and visit the church. This part will take us about 2 hours.
We will start our tour in Jerusalem with a beautiful view over the old city from Mount of Olives and then we’ll visit at the church of all nations (church of agony- also known as Gethsemane, the place where Jesus was captured in his last night.
We will then walk the Via Dolorosa until we get to the church of the Holy Sepulcher in the Christian quarter.
Next we will see the Armenian quarter and then the Jewish quarter with the herodian mansion, the Cardo and the Wailing Wall. . (Tour in the Wailing Wall tunnels requires booking 2 months in advance).
Essential : passports, hat & sunscreen (summer time) warm clothes (winter time), comfortable shoes, water, cameras, modest clothes for holy site (long sleeves and pants).
